Institute of Classical Architecture Exhibition

PRESS RELEASE

September 1, 2010 - September 9, 2010

The Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America Southern California Chapter announce a special exhibition entitled, Travel Paintings and Sketches presenting a wide-ranging selection of small format drawings, watercolors, limited edition prints, and paintings by institute members and are inspired by the classical architectural tradition.  Exhibitors include leading Southern California architects, designers, landscape architects and architectural illustrators.

The exhibition and benefit sale runs from September 1 to September 9, 2010 and is organized and hosted by Edward Cella Art+Architecture gallery.  Guest curators, Wim de Witt, Head of the Department of Architecture & Contemporary Art at the Getty Research Institute, Erik Evans, Architect and Board Member of the Classical America Southern California Chapter, and gallerist and architectural historian Edward Cella selected the more than fifty works from invitational entries of twenty individuals.  A portion of the proceeds from sale benefit the Southern California chapter in its effort to advance the practice and appreciation of the classical tradition in architecture and the allied arts though education, publication, advocacy and awards.
